50,000 beers. 10,000 bratwurst. 1000 pretzels. When it comes to Oktoberfest, Perth has quite the appetite.
Beer buffs and lederhosen lovers are set to repeat their efforts from 2019 when the annual Oktoberfest in the Gardens kicks off on October 12 at Langley Park.
The local version of the well-known German event kicked off in Perth in 2011, when entrepreneurs Ross Drennan and Drew Flanagan put an Aussie twist on the famed festival.
Since then, the event has spread to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
This year’s Perth event will see the two biggest beer halls in Australia being constructed on the Swan River foreshore.
The day’s offerings will also include authentic German food stalls, roving performers, a sideshow alley, silent disco, dodgeball and a huge mix of entertainment and competitions across multiple stages throughout the afternoon and evening.
