Travel options remain severely curtailed thanks to the coronavirus lockdown, especially if you were hoping to head overseas at some point. Here are a few films that will help to lift your spirits and satisfy your longing to travel.
Movie pick 1: ‘RV’ (2006)
This fun family film features the beloved late actor Robin Williams as Bob Munro, who plays the role of a father trying to stay relevant in the lives of his children. He encourages his family to take a road trip to the Colorado Rockies, only things don’t go according to the plan.
Bob tries to juggle both his family and work life while hilariously trying to put out fires and come up with quick-fix solutions to make the trip an enjoyable one.

This movie stars comedians Steve Harvey and Cedrick the Entertainer, with minor roles featuring Bow Wow, Solange, Vanessa Williams and a brief cameo appearance by Jason Mamoa.
Nate Johnson (Cedrick the Entertainer) attempts to reconcile with his estranged wife and spend more time with his three children as they make their way to a family reunion across the country from California to Missouri.
The competitive spirit between the two brothers, Nate and Mack (played by Harvey) results in much hilarity.
Movie pick 3: Local is Lekker: ‘Pad na Jou Hart’ (2013)
A movie set closer to home, this Afrikaans romantic comedy sees free-spirited Amory (Donalee Roberts) travel to Cape Town from Johannesburg in an attempt to tick some South African destinations off her bucket list.
