One of the most impressive penthouses in the world is not only going to be available for purchase, but it’s going to be put up for auction without a reserve. Yes, a triplex on Billionaire’s Row in New York City will go to the highest bidder December 18 to 22 via Concierge Auctions’ online marketplace.

The incredible abode is located in the iconic Hampshire House at 150 Central Park South, a building that won the best residential project in the world in 2018 for its design. Now, building plans have been approved for a five-bedroom home spread out over 9,650 square feet of living space with an additional 1,115 square feet of outdoor space. Standout features include glass walls, four terraces with unobstructed skyline and park views, and white-glove building amenities. And all of this is set 37 floors above Central Park.

Although not built yet, the approved design is ready to start moving with permits and contractors in place. The property is currently offered at $40 million, but it is already appraised for $100 million once finished. What’s more is the regular carry costs are estimated to be just $5,000 a month, when a typical home like this would see more than $60,000 in real estate taxes alone. That makes it an excellent long-term investment as well.

Of course, the highlight is that all of this is up for auction without a reserve. That means anyone in the world can place their bid and not have to meet a minimum requirement. It simply goes to the highest bidder.
