Last week, Greece made a big and very welcome announcement. When the summer tourism season officially begins, on May 14, it will be open to visitors with proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test. In fact the change went into effect this week, and safe travelers from the United States, the European Union, Britain, Israel, Serbia and the United Arab Emirates can enter the country and get straight to their holiday, without a mandatory quarantine. Some lockdown rules may still be in effect, but these hotels (recommended to me by two Greek travel insiders) are dreamy places to hole up away from big crowds.
