Designed by wildlife photographers for wildlife photographers and judged by wildlife photographers, the new WildArt Photographer of the Year competition announced the winning photos of its wet-themed competition.

Organized by WildArt Images — an image library to help conservation causes across the globe — it features 10 themed-category contests running throughout the year and each supporting a conservation effort.

The dreamlike photo above, ‘The Enchanted Morning on the Meadow’ by Polish photographer Marek Mierzejewski, is the WET Gold Award Winner and gets a £500 prize.

It features Marbled White butterflies in the early morning, dew-soaked meadow grass as they waited for the sun to rise and warm their wings. “The damp atmosphere continually misted up my lens, and perhaps the camera mirror too, making it quite challenging, but I think the softness it created makes the photograph,” said the photographer.
