“It costs £15 for 20 fruit trees to be transported to remote Nepali villages. The saplings, a mixture of Walnut, Pecan, Peach, Plum, Sichuan Pepper, Mandarin and Lapsi, will generate fruit income for up to 10 years as they grow.
To raise money for the fruit trees, the KE team are attempting to cross the entire length of the Greater Himalaya Range from Nanga Parbat in Pakistan to Namche Barwa in Tibet, passing through, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet… and back from Nepal to our home in the Lake District; That’s over 11,939km! We’ll be hiking, running, biking, swimming and paddling throughout March and April in our ‘back yard’ – the UK Lake District to complete the distance.
So far we’ve raised over £1,294 meaning we can plant 1725 trees.
The trees are being bought and planted right now in Nepal. Please help us plant some! Details of our JustGiving page are below. Many thanks and wish us good luck!
