“The show must go on,” says Hanoch Rosènn, the creator and director of EXTRAVAGANZA – The Vegas Spectacular, a critically-acclaimed production at the Jubilee Theater inside Bally’s Las Vegas. This is a sentiment Rosènn doesn’t take lightly.
EXTRAVAGANZA – BALLY’S LAS VEGAS
EXTRAVAGANZA – The Vegas Spectacular had its first (and only) preview performance on March 14, 2020, but it had to close the following day because of the pandemic. It returned to the stage on Monday, November 23, 2020, only to find out that its already socially distanced audience that was capped at 250 would be reduced to 50 for each performance because of greater precautions during the pandemic.
This means a first for a Vegas show: EXTRAVAGANZA will have a cast and crew that is the size of its audience. With a cast and crew of 50, they will be performing for an audience of 50. Yet the show is currently the largest cast and biggest show that is remaining open in the Las Vegas.
Rosènn hopes to show the world that Vegas needs entertainment. He explains, “Besides giving work to the cast and the crew that they were waiting eight months, we’re trying to say loud and clear, ‘The show must go on.’ This iconic sentence is so relevant now because we think that it’s a part of the experience in life, and especially in Vegas.”
