With the pandemic crushing traditional travel for more than a year now, it’s safe to say that fewer humans explored and adventured in 2020 than any other year in recent memory, but there’s one demographic that appears to have traveled more than ever. With the rise of the road trip combined with the trend of bubble travel to reduce coronavirus exposure, entire families hit the road together, and those families included a record number of dogs, many of whom had never traveled before. Recognizing that families wanted (and often needed) to keep their furry members close during difficult times, Bethesda North Marriott Hotel began welcoming pets for the first time in October 2020 and recently stepped up their pet-friendly program with a new pup amenity sure to get tails wagging.

As of February, all canine guests receive a free day pass to nearby Bark Social, the sprawling facility that’s part dog park, part beer garden and 100% chill escape for both pups and people alike.
