When you think of heroes, who comes to mind? This year, the global pandemic has shifted our thinking about heroism, with essential workers rising to the top of the list, and the definition of “essential” expanding to include those we perhaps didn’t consider before COVID-19 hit.
Sunriver Resort, 15 miles south of Bend, Oregon, is a 3,300-acre property with long ties to local non-profit organizations. This project — called “For the Love” — extends that community support by directly acknowledging the work of locals without whom we couldn’t have survived the year we are now slowly emerging from. Every week through April 21st, the resort will give away 10 two-night stays to community heroes nominated for the recognition.
“The past year has been difficult, and none have committed more during this challenging period than our frontline workers.
